We first reached out to Trace as we needed a public speaking workshop for our top executives, but we ended up benefiting from much more than that. I had offered to write a recommendation for your support during the ROMT retreat and the great work you did. Here it is belatedly: I am writing to thank Wael for his support to the Regional Office Management Team retreat that we held in Aqaba, Jordan 18 months into the COVID pandemic. We had asked Wael, meeting after a long period where we were working in hybrid mode, to help bring all of us together in person and provide a programme that would combine team building, focus on future objectives and a common vision and fun. Wael listened to us and worked with us to come up with a programme that had elements of all three. He listened to what we specifically needed, picked up and was intuitive in terms of what different voices were putting on the table and helped craft a programme and facilitate the retreat in a manner that achieved all three objectives. Wael is thoughtful, creative and engaging. He had great activities and facilitation techniques we could work around. He senses the mood in the room , knows when to come in to help bring an issue forward and when to step back and let the discourse continue. He reaches out to different participants to create an inclusive discussion and also makes the space for the team to be able to speak for itself and gives room for management to provide the occasional steer required. I highly recommend Wael for any team that has a retreat, team building exercise or planning event and that could use good facilitation to take these forward. It was a pleasure to work with him and UNICEF will definitely use him again.
